Take the Full Course on This Piece! This Allegretto is a wonderfully fun piece to play. It's full of excitement, suspense, attainable challenge, and satisfying resolution. Mauro Giuliani(1781–1829)is one of the biggest names in classical guitar history. He was friends with Beethoven and other top composers of circa 1800 Vienna, and even played cello at the first public performance of Beethoven's 7th Symphony. He was one of the first guitarists to compose in the classical style of the day, and was one of the very first to bring real legitimacy to the guitar in the classical music circles. Giuliani became fairly well-known and popular in his day, but he's gained much more success after his short life (he died at only 48 years old). However, he was enormously successful at having illegitimate daughters. He had four!

Hi, I’m Allen Mathews.
I started as a folk guitarist, then fell in love with classical guitar in my 20’s. Despite a lot of practice and schooling, I still couldn’t get my music to flow well. I struggled with excess tension. My music sounded forced. And my hands and body were often sore. I got frustrated, and couldn’t see the way forward. Then, over the next decade, I studied with two stellar teachers – one focused on the technical, and one on the musical (he was a concert pianist). In time, I came to discover a new set of formulas and movements. These brought new life and vitality to my practice. Now I help guitarists find more comfort and flow in their music, so they play more beautifully. Click here for a sample formula.
